Default Volume toggle/rocker broken

I have searched other threads and the faq's.
The good news is this does not happen much with our cars.
I spend 100 smiles a day commuting through L.A. traffic.
I like having the volume toggle.
Is it a pain in the arse to replace, or do most people just live with out it ?
I am assuming the Modifry DCI does not replace this control, it is still used with it ?
Any input/suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a 2007 with OEM head unit.
Thanks,

the Modifry DCI is designed to retain factory controls for aftermarket headunits so it wont help with your oem unit. sounds like you have a problem at the switch, youre gonna have to take the switch apart to diagnose the problem or replace it.

not hard to replace, not sure how much the part costs though, should be able to find a set of controls used in the FS forum for < 50 if you can't get a good price on the part new. Isn't it under warranty if it's an 07?
