Thats Cool! But i really want This......

I think many of us would have gone that route as well since it would have cost a whole lot less to do. However what Mikey and Chadwick said is right on. When the monitor tries to flip up, it will hit the dash before it can extend fully.

Rumor has it the D300 Alpine screen CAN fit when open. I don't believe the screen can be motorized though. However, you still wouldn't be able to shift the car without breaking your shiny screen.

I know that's the route I would've gone if I really could have. I do want an in-dash screen, and I'll probably do something like Mikey did. In fact, I'll probably go to Mikey's shop just to do it, because I'm really impressed with their work.

I should make commision there... I sold another $3K job for them yesterday...he asked me to shoot down there...a new '04 S owner wanted to see my in-dash setup...we were too busy at work so they came to me I demo'd in the parking lot of work

Mikey: Ever think about adding the TV tuner? I was talking to Dom about it on Friday. I going to finally get mine back up to him to finish off my system in the next week or so.

And yes...I'm still thinking about the surround sound processor For some reason I cant let it go!

The TV tuner seems pointless to me...where are you gonna put the antenna and I hate TV anyway....thats what the DVD is for

Now the 5.1 processor I could justify a little easier ....of course then we would need gobs of more speakers, and power

I wish Alpine's navigation supported touch screen, because now Alpine has a seperate screen that uses touch screen.

Also, I wish there was a way that I can use the NaviMix or whatever so that I can hear the navigation prompts without having to install a separate speaker, or switch my HU over to an Aux input.

I want a seamlessly integrated solution like they have with their flip-out screen. Mikey, do you know if that can be done?

Yes, I suppose it is a bit pointless, but I kinda thought it was a neat idea. Dom said the antenna could be run on the upper part of the windshield. I'm probably going to pass on the idea anyway considering that I rarely use the DVD player already.

As far as the processor, yes I need lot's more power(and more speakers). Dom suggested using the Alpine 5 channel amp designed to work with the processor. I dont know what we'll do with my existing amp. Hopefully use it But still we have other issues to deal with first. Like where the hell to put the head unit for the processor

Alpine's new 5 channel digital theater amp has an internal processor and a preout for a subwoofer.

And their new standalone signal processor can run independent of the separate unit, if used with the right thing.
