Warning buzzer when lights still on?

From: 17 ft below sea level.
Well... as long as the hand brake is ON before you turn off the engine & keys out (with the lights on) and then open the door the beeper works.
If not in that order the beeper does not beep at all, whatever I tried.
So its most definetly hand brake on & engine on related.
