Default Water in the doors

So, being an 00', the seal around the windows is no longer perfect and water seems to be getting in.

With my old speakers....I didnt really care, but my new ones are nice and I just wonder how bad is some water getting on the speakers?

Water has always gotten in. The stock speakers just had the speaker basket to prevent drippage... Some people will by a set of XTC speaker baffles, and will cut the bottoms off, sort of creating an umbrella effect.

Water + Electronics + metal = Oxidation and problems.

will this also prevent grounding out? It seems once i screw in my speakers...I have infinity kappa perfects...they short out. Would this speaker baffle help prevent this?

Does anyone else with kappa perfect experience this.

I made the speaker spacers out of mdf, so i do not know what they are touching to short.

6.5" baffles. Also, make sure none of your screws are contacting the speaker input poles.... I had a similar issue when I was using screws that were too long. Also, seeing as you are running spacers, make sure the spacers are not pushing the input poles to the door panel. Some speakers have rather shallow mounts....
