Default Water In My Door!

Last night I took my door panel off to install my new speakers and there was a ton of water in there.

I had just washed my car 6 hours before, but this water had gotten all over the back of my speakers!

I'm assuming this is very NOT normal, right? How bad is this for the speakers? Any suggestions as to what I can do to prevent it?

Thanks for any help. Nervous......

Check you drain plugs on the bottom of the door. They may be clogged.

Is water "suppose" to be in there?

When you removed your door panel, you should have noticed that clear plastic liner that is held onto the door with that thick gooey sticky paste. Make sure that paste is continuous around the whole perimeter of the plastic. Any water from rain and washing should only go down the outside of the window and down into the inner panels of the door and drain out the holes. If water is getting past that plastic, it will have a hard time finding its way out. Also, did you modify the speaker basket? This may be an entry point for the water as well.

I haven't been clear, sorry.
There was no visible water when I removed the panel. It was when I took the speaker out, through the hole, there was water IN the door.

I have just ordered the foam baskets from crutchfield...

i dont think its that. I remember you saying your speakers dont let your door panel sit 100% they way it should.......This is your problem. Check that out.
