Default Weirdness with my Pinky-fied Premier P730 Deck

Well after about a month of having the pinky modded deck, I noticed something weird yesterday.. All of a sudden, I was having to put the volume up about 10 notices higher than normal, and the sound was really muffled and muddy sounding. I didnt do anything different on the deck audio settings wise. This morning, went under the dash, yanked the radio fuse and voila, it was fixed. Anyone ever experienced this sort of thing before with premier decks?

A radio fuse would usually make the radio NOT WORK rather than not sound so good.

Yes that is very very wierd and I have never had such a problem like that with ANY RADIO.

Once you pull out everything, you may have upset some other variable. Fuses can build up resistance if they run close to tolerance for an extended period of time. Even a loose wire could be at fault.

Not to insult anyone's intelligence, but I have made worse mistakes. Was the mute button engaged by chance? On an Alpine head I used to have the mute only reduced the sound, not eliminated it so occasionally I would notice it was turned way up with the mute on.

Mindcore, you nailed it on the head, it was attenuation. I think the button read "att".

I lied, I thought it was an Alpine, it was a Kenwood. The predecessor to this model several years ago.
