What amp should i get to power all this?
Hi, i purchased a bunch of audio goodies for my car and now i'm down to my last purchase.... the AMP.
I bought Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 that are 100 Watts RMS each.. (400 watts max). I also purchased 1 12" Image Dynamics IDQ D4 V.2 which is 350 Watts RMS (700 watts max).
They said that the sub is a DUAL 4 OHMS...
I was just wondering what kind of amp would i need to run this system so that it sounds good...
I'm also running an alpine cda 9855.....
I'm looking for a good amp... something that will not cost me an arm and a leg but that will still perform.
Please help me out guys... this is the last piece of the puzzle :-)
Ah also.. what gauge wire should i use to set up the speakers, the sub, run the power to the alpine head unit?
Thank you in advance,
-D

For the Kappa's Infinity there is the Infinity 7520a. At www.cardomain.com it is only $99 and has an RMS rating of 94 x 2 @ 14.4V (4-ohm). On the same site they have the Pioneer GM-7100M that would work with the sub. It has an RMS rating at 2-ohms (which with you running a DVC 4-ohm sub, should (if I am correct), be able to be wired up to either a 2 or 8 ohm load. I am not sure if the extra 10WRMS will hurt or not....I will let someone on here confim or dis-confirm it.
I have listened to both, and I like them.....but before you purchase, you should listen to them....to decide for yourself what you want.

Should i just get one amp with 5 channels due to the limitied space i have in the trunk... well more like where the spare tire was :-)
Someone told me that i should get a mono amp for the sub as it will sound a lot better....
what should i do guys?
(the amp you suggested for the speakers looks okay... but should i get a 4 channel one in case i want to put in rear speakers one day?)

not a sales pitch or anything, but i feel it fits your setup very well.
it is rated at 50x4 but it has been benched to do 126watts x 4 @4ohms and this amp is stable down to 2ohms bridged. it has been tested to do 524watts @ 2ohm bridged. 98% of amplifiers are not stable when bridged into a 2 ohm load. which in your case, since you have a dual 4 sub, only a 2ohm or 8 ohm load is possible.
im sure you dont want to run 2 amps in a s2k. with this amp, you can drive everything with this one amp.
PM me if youre interested.
Rockford Fosgatte is a REALLY good amp. The usually put out more power than they advertise. If it is within your budget, get that one.John
ps-the Infinity is also kinda large (12"x12"x3") so multiple amps would be more difficult.

I am impressed with the new rockfords myself. Reminds me of their waffle iron amps, some of the best amps Ive ever used. Completely indestructable. ADSF is a stand up guy, this might be a nice deal for ya. The best price I can get this amp for is high $490s, just so you know what you are working with.
if you check ebay.. you can get it for about 409 USD + SHIPPING
