What do oyu guys think is better???
I am planning on getting some kind of subwoofer set up in the S. I can't decide if I should get a single 10 or 12, or go with two 8s though. Anyone have experiance with this. Suggestions???
Thanks

It all depends on the application and the speakers involved.
2 Super duper 8's in a great box will probably be better than 1 average 12". Though I have seen a single 10 that kicked so hard you would think they were 2 12's!
Its really how much room can you give up....what type of sound are you going for and what kind of money are you looking to spend......1 super 10" in a sealed box say like the one bingo has would be perfect.

My 2 cents: I'd go with a single 10. A 10 will go a bit deeper then the 8s, you don't need a lot of volume (this is a small car), and a single 10 will take up less space (and less amplifier) then 2 8s. A 12 is just a bit more bass, more space, and more amp.
How much you want to fork out for said setup is the big factor of course...

Good morning, I ended up with one 10 in the well of my trunk. It is getting about 300 w rms. It provides more than enough bass for my taste.
Why did I end up with a ten? It requires less space than a 12 and less power. It is not as complex as two 8's. It seemed to provide the most value - $ for sub/enclosure/power +space requirements vs. bass.
I have an Audiomobile Evo dvc and it does a great job. However, there are lots of subwoofers and amps out there that do great jobs. You can get more bass, spl, for less money. And you can probably get more sq for less money. But I am pleased with the spl and sq provided by the Evo.
Some of the questions you need to answer are -
What is your budget?
How much bass do you want?
Will that bass match your highs? (more $ for highs and power)
How much space will you give up? And, of course, where will that space be?

IF you use high-quality components, then a smaller sub will generally have better sound quality, to a degree. Go too small, and it may not be bass-y enough. One 8" sub, if you ask me, is too little. I have one 10" in my car, which I find to be perfect.
In my next car though, I may do two 8" subs. Tighter bass, IMO.
The 12"s are usually too much for me, and the 15"s are just all boom.
