really, has it been that long since something hit Miami? jeez, time flies i guess.
i do hope Wilma dodges you... but who do you wish it on?

all things considered? we're doing well. everyone is healthy, my sister still has her job (school teacher) even after the most recent set of cuts, and my brother in law's job has been relocated to a store that's even closer to his house (he's a store manager - his store was notably damaged by the storm, and the store nearby had a manager that never returned).
repairs are progressing on all our houses, and life seems to be approaching a new normalicy.

thank you for asking kind sir...

That Eclipse may work in my enclosure with some fill - if you have one and want me to try it out, I will cover return shipping if it does not sound good.

No problem Phil. Thats great to hear you guys are all on your feet again. Any thoughts of moving from the area?

Yeah its been a while since anything has hit Miami other than Katrina back in late august. Time does fly.

Wilma, I wish it upon no one, being in any hurricane is not fun.

William, I have actually gone ahead and decided on going with the SEAS LOTUS 10.

Well, the Eclipse you have pictured is the Ti line, which is one of the best subs you can buy period. It is pricy, but like with everything else, you get what you pay for. Its a fantastic sub, and youll love it. Yes its double the price of the Alpha, but its a keeper.

The Infinity is also a VERY nice sub (I prefer the DVQ), and is very SQ oriented. I would not consider the JL. The eclipse is better in every which way.

Also, sorry to hear about the whole acaraudio experience. Looks like you are in the same boat I am in. Those f*ckers didnt learn their lesson. Call them and tell them that if they do not cancel the order, you will dispute it with the CC company. They run like little girls.

Hey Dave,

The TI looks like a sweet sub, but I decided to go with the Lotus Sub after reading many reviews. If I dont like it, the Eclipse is definately number 2 on my list.

Have you dealt with Lotus subs ever Dave?

Acaraudio was a pain in my a**. After two weeks of them telling me that the sub was shipped, and them not being able to come up with a tracking number, I called them to cancel, they would not let me cancel over the phone, they told me i had to cancel via email. So i did that, about 4 days later I email them back to check on the status, and they told me they went out and retrieved the package, which is bull, they never shipped it in the first place, I bet you they dont even have them in stock. Needless to say, now I am waiting for my refund. They said it would take 7 to 10 days, I am going on the 5 day already. Did you order anything recently from them Dave?

No way...after this, noone order from those a$$holes.

Ive never worked with SEAS, but people whos opinion I respect say its good, so I will bite.

ADSF swears by them, and since I do respect his opinion, I would like to demo some of their gear. However, easier said that done in NY. I havent seen too mant SEAS dealers around.

Acaraudio was not fun to deal with. I should of gone with my first instinct which was to avoid ordering, since every other retailer stated the sub was out of stock, but oh well, you live you learn. And the worst part is my ordeal is not over yet, not until i get my refund will it be over.

I have been snooping around on www.elitecaraudio.com about people's experiences with subs, and the Lotus gear seems to be highly praised over there. Seems SQ, quality and accuracy is what is used to best describe their gear.

ADSF indicated to me that he is the only distributor in the states for Lotus goods. SEAS' website states the same thing. Their site sells some very high end goodies, ie-BRAX amps.

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on using Ensolite Foam in between the door trim panels and the door itself. Back when I had my utopias, i always had some little vibrations from with in the doors that I could not get rid off. This is even after using dynamat extreme on the doors. I figure putting the foam in there will absorb any resonance or vibration that I was never able to get rid of before. That, and I might slap some dynamat on the inside of the door trim panels for added dampening. Let me know what you guys think?

looks like Wilma has lost some oomph on those poor sods in Mexico. still, now it looks like she should be a weak Cat 2 or a Cat 1 when she hits Miami. hopefully at least.....

no - no intentions of moving right now. Baton Rouge is swamped w/ people who have fled both New Orleans and the Lake Charles areas, but we're surviving. since i started a new job 3 days after Katrina, leaving now would be tough... especially since the new job really in many ways is a huge improvement career wise for me....
i do sorta wish all the new Baton Rouge citizens would plan on going back home.... eventually. taking a smallish city of 250k and adding 150k people really does swamp us.
ah well, i'm thankful that i wasn't 'forcibly' relocated...

i'm unfamiliar w/ the subs you guys are discussing.... i'm just going to watch.

Ditto on the acaraudio recommendation - threaten CC card action and they will eventually refund your money. It took me almost 2 months.

There are a number of posts in here regarding their poor performance - nobody should use them at all.
