What do you guys think of the A/D/S P850.2 Amp?
My friend is going to offer me this amp. For all you people that have actually heard or own this amp, what's your opinion? What's a fair price now for an used one in great condition?
Its been quite awhile since I have seen a ADS amp, they use to be very good. We would install the PQ8 for the mids and highs in a system and power the subs with a rockford fosgate Punch 75.
ADS had a very high quality sound, not sure how they perform today.

i've had some minor experience w/ their home gear in the past... it was very nice stuff (but that was 15 years ago).
their car stuff was supposed to be top notch, but i have no idea of any specifics... *shrug* sorry.

Here are the specs. I'm using this for 4 components (possibly getting powerful ones for the front so I can bridge 2 channels), and Aura Pro Bass shakers. That'll use up the 50W x 8 perfectly. If I can't find components that powerful I'll still have 150W at 4 Ohms left, which can be use for maybe a sub later. The reason why I liked the amp is because it's so versatile. 150W RMS x 4 bridged at 4 Ohms? That's amazing!!!
Plus he's giving it to me for $150. They retailed for $900 when they first came out

What could be more space saving and installer friendly than an eight channel amplifier that creates 50 watts per channel, into a 4 ohm load? The answer is "nothing", but add to that a bridgeable power supply that is 2 ohm stable, our Multi-Cross

a/d/s/ stuff used to be phenominal....however, at one point they were bought out by directed electronics (as were PPI and Orion). The quality of all three brands dropped afterwards, and I *THINK* this amp came out after directed purchased a/d/s/....nevertheless, it's a solid amp and for $150 I don't think you can go wrong.
