Digvball,

Are you using the OEM HU with the upgraded 3 way door speakers and the rear speaker addition? Can the unit drive the added speakers adequately?

Jet,

I am using the OEM HU with the 5.25" Kenwood 3-way rear panel speakers right now. I am still waiting on the 6.5" Kenwood 3-way door speakers from Lucid. So I can't really do a full assesment as of yet, but with only the rear panel speakers, it makes a great difference. Will let you know when I get the other ones installed.

So far, I'm gonna hook it up w/ my OEM HU, but eventually I will replace my HU to an aftermarket, just gotta find one that will be compitable w/ my CD-changer.

Digvball, was it easy installin the speakers? mappin the wires and others? much difficulty?

Eddie
The rear panel speakers were easy to install. It took about an hour. The wiring was all done by Lucid, just had to hook up the connectors and it was all done. The instructions that he provides were very clear. He even has them posted on his website.

I have heard some complain that you can't have the seat all the way back and reclined with the rear speakers. How much of a problem is it? I heard Lucid was possibly getting an even thinner rear speaker setup to sell soon and wondered if this meant they would not protrude into the back of the seat.

I just installed my 3 way Kenwood rear speakers from Lucid tonight. Took just over an hour. The difference on the hiway is night and day. It's not audiophile quality, but it is 100% better than stock. My wife's comment (we did the installation together) was that she couldn't understand why Honda didn't do that from the factory--because it sounded so much better.

Installation was breeze, and the instructions should be so clear on everything I buy. No complaints.

Jetpuke (do you really want to be called that?), I tried several seat adjustment combinations to make the rear speakers hit the seat, and it seems to not be a problem. They may contact ever so slightly if you really work at it, but it will never be a problem in any application I could imagine using. If the seat is all the way back, it won't recline very far and seemed to me to contact above the speaker.

Al, my initial impressions is that the bass is tighter than than the stock fronts, but perhaps not quite as deep. In other words, it doesn't distort as easily as the fronts. However, the combination of all speakers provides much more bass, and since I'm not turning up the volume as far, I don't hear as much distortion.

I suspect an amp (after I get the new front speakers) will provide tighter bass with more kick.
