Default What head unit would be best to drive my Boston Pros

I just bought a 2000 S and I'm in the market to upgrade the factory radio. I want something that can drive my 6" Boston pro speakers I plan to use. I don't want to use a amp because I just want a simple install. I know an amp would be best but if I can find a good head unit that can do the job ok/good I will be happy.
Also, is there any with XM built in?

Most all head units will put out 40-50 watts max power which isn't much of a difference really. With that said, pick on that has the "other" features you are looking for like bluetooth, usb, hd radio, satellite radio, etc. A lot of members are going Alpine and using the power pack adapter to boost the power. It's a simple plug and play amp, the only hiccup is finding a place to hide the power pack.

there are no radios with a 50 watt output per channel. thats marketing bs. you are going to seriously be wasting cash on high end speakers just to run them on radio power. either do it right and give em the power they deserve or dont do it.

no alpine( or pioneer ,sony, kenwood) has built in satellite radio. its an add-on tuner. that being said, the only alpine thats going to offer the ability to add satellite as well as steering control input is the 138.

I will take your advice on adding a amp to the speakers, I was just seeing if anything new out there on the market that could power the Boston pros I have without added amp.

Here is a link to the old setup in my first S, I still have everything from the system.

I have 2 Boston amps, a GT20 and a GT24 the GT24 would drive them best but the GT20 fits under the seat nice and will still do the job prety good

We are going with the Alpine cde-124sxm2 head unit, it comes with everything to get XM radio

be aware that head unit WILL NOT allow the use of your dash controls.

I'm aware, thank you...I think the 138Bt will work with the dash control. I never used the dash control so I'm ok with it.
