Ok, sorry guys but I didn't get a chance to take a pic before I left town. I just posted before taking the pic because I thought it may be something common since everything on the car is stock (as far as I can tell)... stock stereo, stock alarm...

Once I get back I can take some pics AND try and trace where that ribbon cable is going...

If it were for the alarm system, I wonder what the headphone type connector would be for...

it is an alarm system. more like a kill switch.. the head phone jack is to plug in a key ( not car key) but for the alarm key. to disable it so you can start the car.. since you have keyless entry .. every time you hit unlock it disables the alarm/ kills switch.

i taking a few out of used cars.. i have one right now on time of my box.. at work.. which i can take pictures and show you on monday if you like to see.

I knew somebody would know what it is! Thanks! Yeah, if you can send a pic that would be great. I'll also post one when I get back. Thanks again.

Any web links to a system so I could try and learn more about it. Since I bought it used I don't have any chance of getting the key. I'd like to see how to buy a new key...

dont think you need the key.. everytime you hit unlock and lock.. it arms and disarms the starter key but most alarm shops can help you more. im not to familiar with this time of alarm system

wire color are pretty similar but a picture of where each wire goes.. i can tell you more or less what the wires goes to

basic alarm wire colors and where they go to on your type of system
alarm wire colors - goes to
red- constant 12v source
yellow- ignition wire
black- ground
brown(or other colors)- horn
skinny green- lock signal wire
skinny blue- unlock signal wire

two wires should be left.. really large wires(maybe black wires).. that are installed in between the starter wire to make a starter kill

when i remember. i can tell you the wires on the car are by color
just need to look it up at work

Yes, that is exactly what I have... with the same ribbon cable, etc.

So what brand is the one you have in the pic? And what do you need the key for if the door lock/unlock does it?

thanks for the help!

i dont know what brand that is in the pix.. it just says its made in (forgot where)

most of those are dealer installed generic stuff

IMO, a starter kill sounds unnecessary on an S2000 with the factory immobilizer. If the thief is sophisticated enough to bypass the immobilizer then a starter kill isn't going to slow him down a bit.
