I heard some of the new upper end Alpines (and maybe other brands) have a direct plug and play Ipod compatibility? Any idea which ones... and if so... how many of the Ipod controls and displays are transferred to the head unit?

Part two of my question... if the previous one flops. What is the best head unit/music keg option for someone who doesn't necessarily need the portability of an Ipod solution? Throw some ideas out there for me.

As a sidenote, I'm selling my Alpine CDA-7998 with 6 disk MP3 CD changer if anyone is interested
