Smile What are some of the best

I hate my current radar detector. It alerts me when a cop's radar would have already tagged me. I usually spot the cop car before the detector alerts me but the detector then serves no purpose. So does anyone know what some of the most reliable radar/laser detectors are?

Nothing will protect you from instant on devices - not even the super duper V1.

I don't know about that. I have heard good reviews from the folks who have laser shifters. You are correct about the instant on radar though. I have a passport 8500 X50. It's probably a close second behind the V1.

Try and have another car run interference - particularly a red one. Nothing will save you if you are out and alone though.

Radar detectors do not guarantee anything, they just improve your chances.

I'm happy with my Valentine One, with that said.

bell 995 scored very well in the sub $300 class. in the over $300 segment it's V1 followed close (very close) by passport 8500 x50

I love my Beltronic Pro GX65. Please read the reviews and you be the judge. I've been able to ride with some other members in the M3 Community who almost exclusivly use V1. I had placed my GX65 along side and they both picked up all signals almost at the same time and both were able to pick up multiple bogey's.

For the price and performance I choose the Beltronic.
