I want to put a sub in the area where the spare tire goes. What will fit? I was thinking about the Infinity basslink. Is anyone using a sub in this location? Which one?
I do plan to replace the head unit but not the OEM speakers so will be able to run an AV to the sub.
I call it the spare tire shelf only because people use "well" to talk about the place where the tools are located.
Anyway, yes there's a guy who recently posted pictures of the box he made to fit on the shelf.
I'm working on something that will fit on the shelf but don't have much to show yet.
If there was a survey of S2000 owners with subs in the trunk, I'm guessing the majority would say theirs is either in the tool well or to the right or left side of the trunk floor.
i believe lucid (dont quote me) did make a box that can be pt on either side of the trunk. i myself have a jl audio stealth box with a 10" sub that i got from a member on here. of my research, those were the 2 most popular places. good luck.
Stereo Integrity is in the final stages of having it's BM on the market. Hopefully, within the next few months it will be available for purchase. 12" flat diaphragm with the XBL^2 motor. 4" overall box height (3.5" mounting depth, using 1/2" MDF), and 0.5cu ft of enclosure space. Recommended power is 200-500W.
heres is my set up with the stealth box from jl with the 10" W0 and my amp rack in the spare tire well. thought i saw someone selling their sub and box on the forum the other day

Hi, recently completed a custom fiberglass+mdf enclosure that bolts to the spare tire mount. The sub is a pioneer 12" shallow mount, model TS-SW3041D. I think the box volume is within recommended range, but sub-optimal. Their 10" version might be better suited. It is possible, but be forewarned, there is minimal clearance, and fabrication for this newbie took forever!
Would love to see as pic of what you did. I'm assuming if it's a 12" it fires upward. Do you know roughly your net volume?
i have my passenger footwell box almost done - it will be ready to play this week, you have just as much room on the passenger side as the drivers if you measure to the peadals. i do plan on selling these once testing is done. this box is designed around EXILE's xtec10, shallow mount sub, 300 watt power handling, i should have pics by the end of the week.
