I am about to do a door speaker install with some polk mmc6500 and i am installing a 100x2 amp in the trunk right next to the spare tire...

i am wondering what these two wires are and what some of you guys did with them in a similar setup (ie just push the amp over the one circled in green or find a way to relocate it)

i just found out that area is the gas tank. so i take it the wire in green is the gas tank sensor?

for whoever put their amp up there has it ever over heated?

 

I mounted my amp on a sheet of plywood cut out to clear those wires:

no overheating for me, but I chose my amp specifically for that location -
GT40 has side-mounted heatsink and a built-in cooling fan.

 

my amp is too thick to fit in there... hmm i guess im gonna be hacking up some MDF tomorrow
