I think in need to hook up my '02 tweeters to this thing (black box)? I don't think the '01s come with one. Where can I get one and what is it?

It's a crossover, basically separates different ranges of music so it goes to only the intended speakers (you don't want tweeters playing bass). I'm not sure where you can get an OEM one?! maybe H and A?

if i am not mistaken they are the crossovers for the speaker/tweeter. they not on the 01s because we dont have tweeters. i have no idea where to get oem ones but you can find aftermarket ones anywhere

The black box doesn't come with 02-03s either. That's an aftermarket crossover for separates.

If you look on the back of stock 02 tweeters, they come with a little capacitor that filters out low-freqs, that's a crossover right there.

Unless you have aftermarket speakers, you don't need that black box. If you buy component speakers, they generally come with crossovers.

My MB Quart RSB 218s came with the stupid musicomp crossovers, big as hell. Had to cut out that circular dark plastic thing in the door to fit it in there good.

Look here http://www.partsexpress.com/resources/xover.html for information on capacitor values. You just need the C1 of the left half of the diagram if your tweeter doesn't have one.
