Where is a 1-stop place to buy all cables/wires?
I have received all my major components in my new system setup. Now I need all the misc. items: battery terminals, speaker wires, amp kits, RCA cables, fuses... anything else thats needed to hook up my system...etc.
Where is a good place, online or a local shop to purchase these items. What brand, type of cables, type of speaker wires, fuses should I go with. Whats the amount of length I need for these calbes/ wires. What size gauge wire, fuses do I need? Am I missing anything else?
My setup is:
Alpine 9887
Focal K2P 165KP Components
Alpine PDX-4.150 Amp
JL 10"W3V3 Sub
Thanks
John

I've always gone with the Stinger Pro Series from my buddy at www.darvex.com
He's always had great prices and his service is outstanding. He came recommended to me by a few different friends who have always used him with positive results.
As for the figures of that setup. I would go 4 AWG power/ground. 16 gauge speaker wiring for the speakers, maybe 1 step larger for the sub??? (I don't run a sub). I used somewhere around 17 feet to run power to my spare tire area. Where are you mounting your crossovers? This will play a role in how much speaker wire you need.

I can always count on you giving me answers to questions I have... much appreciated.
As for the cross-overs, I haven't decided yet. I was thinking next to the amp on a amp rack in the trunk since thats what I've seen most people do. My guessing is there is no advantage putting it in the trunk other then the fact that you will have easy access to the crossover compared to putting it in the door.

You can save a lot of wire if you mount them in the doors. However I don't have components so I can't comment.
The amount of speaker wire you need doubles if you mount them in the trunk area.

With my setup can I just get a 4 channel RCA, 2 channels for components and the other 2 for the sub? I read darknights1999 how-to on wiring the s2k and I see one 4 channel and one dual in his setup. Do I need both or just one 4 channel or 2 duals?

I have had good luck purchasing from Parts Express, though never for car wiring.
An online shop I did have good luck with for my car wiring (and was recommended to me by folks here) is http://www.knukonceptz.com/.
A couple of general points. The purpose of wire/cable is to transmit signal and that's it. A particular wire shouldn't "sound better" than any other, though a bad one could "sound worse" due to allowing RF or other noise/interference. There is little difference in speaker and power wire across manufacturers (though the Kicker wire I mention below is more flexible than anything else I've used). RCA cables will have more differences in quality of materials/construction, and it's worth paying a bit more for a better cable as it will help reject interference. However, you need not spend $50 or $100+ on monster cable, etc. (see below for recommendation)...
You can (and should) run a 4-channel RCA cable from the head unit to the amp. If the amp will be located in the trunk, go with a 4-meter cable length. I have the Krystal cable from KnuKonceptz (http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...prodID=KRY4.4M), which is a very nice cable for not a lot of money ($25).
Then as mentioned above, get 4 gauge power and ground wire (about 20 feet for power, 3 for ground), 16 gauge from the amp to the crossovers/components (I purchased 50' and had a bit left over with crossovers in the doors) and 12-14 gauge for the sub.
You'll want a 60A or 80A fuse with a 4x150 amplifier.
Another kit to consider is this one from Kicker:

I'm using the power cable and fuse holder from this kit (purchased from this vendor through ebay). The wire is extremely flexible, unlike anything else I've seen. While not necessary, it is easier to work with. I can't say how good the RCA is in the kit (I'm sure good enough) but if you don't like it, you can always get the nicer cable from Knu (along with a different fuse for the holder in the Kicker kit).
Something to consider, the speaker wire in the Kicker kit is of the "standard" side by side type with which you are probably familiar (the two channels are attached next to each other, which gives a relatively flat and wide cable). The Karma speaker wire from Knu has the wires for the two channels twisted around each other, which increases the diameter. The upside is better noise rejection, but noise tends not to be a huge issue with speaker wire.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Phil

I ordered a 4AWG amp kit, 2 battery terminals, and a 2nd RCA cable from outfitterclearance.com. $35 shipped. I was pretty skeptical but my order shipped quickly and everything arrived no problems.
