Default Where do you mount your crossovers

I know people normally put it in the pocket compartment behind the door panel, but what do you do if it's too large to fit?
Old Speakers: Polk MM6501
New Speakers: Massive Audio CK6

Old crossovers:

New crossovers: (too big for compartment)

Here's where I'm putting it for now...(the compartment is removed, but same spot)

here's how my door looks, nowhere to put it

Is it safe to put it there? Will water leak through to the crossover? It's being held down with industrial strength velco so it's not going anywhere. I'm just scared about rain and water

I just put mine beside the amp in the spare tire spot...figured if I ever got a better amp to use the active crossovers in the amp, it would be a quick fix

I mounted both of my crossovers in the open void behind the seats(inside the vented pannel). I tapped the signal/speaker lines right before the factory speakers lines goes in through kick-pannel/door. Then, I ran new speaker wires through the Door(One for the tweeter and one more for mids on both sides of the car).
