how did you do that???? that looks nice
Hey, thanks . All I really did was remove the cup holder cover and I built up the bottom of the deep cupholder with plexiglass and put a flat piece across the cup holder to act as the new higher base. Then I took some air conditioning insulation foam and cut it out, then I just covered the foadm with vinyl/leather fabric. These directions may be the absolute worst DIY that you will ever read, but its pretty simple and straight forward. Thanks -Michael.

i dont like the thing. who cares? im apparently in the minority on this one anyways.
You're not the only one. I don't care for hard drive based players, no matter how nice the ipod looks, and the nano has some issues.

Besides, who needs an ipod when you have satellite radio

I like the Proclip mount a lot. It's expensive for a piece of molded plastic, but it positions the ipod nearly perfectly between the shifter and your right leg - very easy and safe to read while driving and you can reach the buttons without taking your hand off the shifter.

For some reason my hand brake is on the wrong side.

Stock deck ----> iCruze -----> Ipod located under the passenger seat. This way I don't have to worry about thieves seeing the Ipod. Plus takes no major modification to have the Ipod located there.

another thing you might try is cutting a small hole in your cupholder to feed a belkin auto charger with a line out connected to your aux in on your deck (assuming you have a deck with aux in). i added an extra cig lighter in the area under the rollbar behind the passenger to accomodate, and all the wires go underneath the center console. and when you leave your car, just shut the cup holder. if you're interested i'll snap you a pic as to what this looks like.

oh, and i was very pleasantly surprised as to how good the belkin autocharger sounds on my nakamichi deck. it sounds as good as compressed audio can sound. and some dude is selling a million of these on ebay for about $12-15.

I use the strap on the backside of the glove box door, it goes to an Alpine KCA-420i interface then on to the 9855. All I had to do was cut a hole in the back of the compartment.
