Default where to install 1 amp?

I wanna install 1 audison amp in my S and I've seen several solutions where to put it.

1. Ideal : under the seat, but I believe the amp is to thick to go under the seat.

2. In the spare wheel place : I'd like to keep the spare wheel for when something happens...

3. on the bottom of the trunk, above the tools... problem is that the amp gets extremely hot (but sounds good), that means I can't put anything in my trunk or it will fall on the amp and when i cover it with glass it won't have enough air (I think) to cool down.

4. straight up to the wall on the side or the back... sounds good but I suppose it's dangerous for things in the trunk to touch the amp while being hot.

5. behind the spare wheel cover in the trunk (invisible), so just between the springs and above the strutbar (back). Would this be a possible solution? Has anybody done it before? Where should I mount the plate where the amp goes on? Where I put the bolts?

6....?

Any other suggestions? What do you think is the best way to follow?
I'm not going for a show install, only play, keep it safe and keep the trunk as big as possible.

thx,
Dries

Pas2knut makes a really nice amp rack for the spare tire area.

You're going to have to make some sort of sacrifice, be it trunk space or a spare tire.

I think you have weighed your options pretty well, just come to a decision!

above the gas tank (to the left of the spare tire) works if your amp is less
than 16" (40cm) long and 2.5" (6cm) tall, but may not be the best place
for an amp that runs hot.

I have mine placed right behind the driver's side seat. Just screwed it in. Works great, but it is just an 80x2 driving my door speakers....

I have no idea how big your amp is but my idea is to build a box that goes into the trunk well, with one 10" to the side and the amp built flush into the box on the other side.

If you remove the rear tray, most amps can fit above the gas tank area. And with the well tray removed, there is plenty of airspace.
