I've got a nokia 6000 series phone and generally sit with the seat all the way back. the phone (laid flat on it's back) fits perfectly and w/o moving "wedged" between the seat and the glove box. Works out well since the power is right there too, I don't have cords going all over the car. When it rings the radio mutes (thanks Pinky) and I simply pick up the earpiece and chat away! The only time I have to grab the phone is to make a call that's not on my one button dial.

I am planning on putting a couple of pieces of elastic around the glove box door so that I can stick the phone on the outside of the door (much like the elastic on the inside of the door). This will place the phone right by the power source (though I'm going to hardware it in from the back so that I don't have to keep a plug in the front).

I put my Erickson in the cup holder....it has a body glove rubber cover and wedges in nicely.

I've got a Nokia 5190 - kinda bulky - When I don't have a passenger I just toss it in the seat, but when I do have someone with me, I typically wedge it inbetween the stereo door (Closed) and the shifter surrounding thing face up. Seems pretty tight, but you have to place it perfectly.

Although...now that I think about it...you know that blank place for a button opposite the cruise control on the dash? I wouldn't mind putting some black velcro on there...
just a thought...

Here is my setup.

The holder is a CCM Hands Free thing. It broke so I took off the arm but left the power cord and ran the wire under the console to the back of the power outlet. I glued some stryofoam to the bottom so it fits snug in the "coin holder" it actually charges the phone too. The other thing is a wireless headset and works quite well. I can even talk with the top down.

Silver -
doesn't that bug you when you drive, like getting in the way of the armrest, or when you shift?

BTW, no offense, but looks like you could use a little leather conditioner on that driver seat! Mine was the same way, just rub a bunch of conditioner in your hands and massage it in.

Inspired by this thread, I made foam inserts for the cup holder to hold my Motorola Vader 3620 phone. It works with the phone either opened or closed. Closed, the phone does not interfere with shifting.

I used foam that came with camera protector cases. I had it stored in a closet for fifteen years waiting for the right purpose.

Here's links to two photos. The only difference is that the phone is opened in the first and closed in the second.

Thanks for the inspiration.

After getting tired of my phone smacking around the slot it was in during sprirted driving, I went on a mission. Had to A) hold the phone firmly B) hold it out of the way and C) not damage the car. Well, I just got back from Walmart where I bought a magent gizmo for $1.98 that does the trick prefectly!

At first I didn't think it would be strong enough to hold the phone vertically, so I was going to put it on the console. Hah! This thing is strong! I put it on the right hand side of my dash (exactly opposite the cruise control button) and my phone hangs right in my line of sight (yay, a clock!). The holder (called a Phone On Hold) came with an adhesive metal strip in case your phone isn't metallic enough, but not wanting ot mar my phone, I simply put the strip inside the battery case, and it works like a charm! Tough to beat for under $2...
