Default Wiring Problem?

So the other week my sound system went out and I can't seem to figure out whats wrong. The amp wont turn on. I've tested another amp and it also doesn't turn on so i'm assuming it's the wiring now. I've checked all the fuses and everything is good. All the connections are good as well. Can someone explain to me why my sound system stopped working all of a sudden? Radio and speakers still work though.

multimeter (you need one) check make sure theres voltage on ur power wire and your amp turn on wire when the radio is on.. test you ground on the amp as well..

It's probably the 'remote' wire if it's not turning on at all...but it's way easier to diagnose with a multimeter

I agree, get a DMM. BUT on a side note I have seen fuses that look fine, actually be the cause of the problem.

1) Changed the remote wire, still didn't come on.
2) Tested out with another amp that was working in my friends car and it still didn't work. So it can't be a fuse problem on the amp
3) Tested the fuse on the power wire and it is good
4) Tested the amp with a voltmeter and it has power going in

Any other possible reason? I still haven't changed the grounding spot though so hopefully it's that. It's just weird that it would be a grounding issue because my current grounding spot was working for the amp before.

did u test the remote wire for 12 volts when the radio is on....

heres a simple way to tell if the remote wire is working or not.. Take a short thing wire (any wire size) touch the positive 12 on the amp and touch the remote input on the amp.. If the amp turns on then that means ur remote wire isn't sending the voltage.. (even if u replace the remote wire the deck could not be putting out voltage anymore)

I agree. simple test even without a meter. Now for the OP, as far as you testing the fuse, what did you do?

You are right tried that and the amp turns on. What can I do to fix it?
