wiring question
So this may be a silly question but im kinda lost. I have a 05 s2000. Im looking to replace the HU and i want to buy new door speakers and wire in my head rest speakers that came from honda that were in the car when i bought it. They were not wired however. Now my question is if i get new 6.5's for the doors do i lose the factory tweeter. And also how do u hook up the headrest speakers so they dont hit the low notes because by the looks of it they arent supposed to hit them anyways. Correct me if im wrong please. but im just alittle lost on how exactly i would go about wiring new door speakers along with the head rest speakers and also would i lose the factory tweeters.
I wouldn;t use the OEM tweeters with a new head unit because the factory speakers are a very low impedance so that they could squeeze out volume from the sad OEM HU. Oh yeah, and they suck. Get a good set of componants and put the tweeters from that set into the stock tweeter locations.
Personaly, I would sell the OEM headrest speakers and put the money toward some nicer front speakers. If you are bent on headrest speakers, sell the OEMs and buy some S-pods with quality speakers in them. Your system will only be as good as your weakest link and ALL of the OEM stuff = a huge weak link.

alright so i need a nice set of components for the doors. But i really like how the factory headrest speakers look. I understand that they suck but i really would rather not sell them i would like to use them. So how would i wire that all together if i wanted to use the headrest speakers. If Its going to be that much bigger of a pain in the ass then ill take them out and just use the doors but i would REALLY like to use the head rests as tweeters as well.
Get you a 4ch amp. Put the front componants on the front two chanells and the headrest speakers on the rear two channels. Set the crossover accordingly. Don't start out with too much pwr to the rears. Also, it is better to use the rears for mid/fill rather than highs. This is to keep the sound stage in front of you where it belongs.
I honestly wouldn't amp those rears if you want to keep them or if you do, turn the gains WAY down on them, otherwise your just going to blow them. They will sound much better just running on the aftermarket headunit.
Put some nice speakers in the doors, and get an amp to push those and run the rears off the HU (or if you amp them just turn the gains down very low on the rear channel)
Otherwise you end up with the saying in my sig
