Default Wiring and sub box fitment question

So I just picked up a toolwell sub box and sub, and an amp from one of our members on here

The problem is the sub box doesn't slide right in flush, it feels like it is just a bit too big for the tool well enclosure. How can I fix this, should I just sand the edges until it eventually fits??

Also, I plan on fabbing up an amp rack per the specs in the sticky, but how do I run the wire from the sub to the amp rack in the spare tire enclosure cleanly? Can I just drill a hole in the tool well and run the wires up to the spare tire area??

I would run the wire under the carpet in the truck. I wouldn't reccomend drilling through the floor panel.

If you do drill through the floor panel, be sure to use a grommet to protect the wire.

Thats what I figure, but isn't the carpet glued?? Could I just use a coat hanger and fish it through. I've seen people here with clean installs, looking for anyone who has done something similar

It isn't glued AFAIK. I believe it is held in place with clips.

Well just finished the install, only took me 2 hours!! [/sarcasm]

Unfortunately in the city I don't ahve a garage and I started a little too late, so I did the entire install in the alley next to my apartment with only a flashlight!!

Everything works fine, and I must say I did a very clean install. All of the wiring is hidden very well under the carpet and run into the spare tire area. With light though, this project coulda been done in 40 min probably though. Eh I stuck it out though, I wanted this done

The hardest part was finding all the little clips and such holding the carpet and paneling in so I could tuck the wiring away

Next time, post up in the UMW first, I'm sure someone could have let you borrow some garage space to work on the project.

I'm glad you got it hooked up though, congrats.

Well I got the wiring taken car of, but now I need to fix the fitment of the sub box...the box I bought is the toolwell box that used to be in a 02 S. Are the 02 trunks different sizes then the 00?? It won't sit flush like it should...I think the little lip about 3-4 inches down is impeding it fromsitting all the way down in there. Is there something I'm missing here??

its not that the wood is that much deeper, its just that it is getting caught up on the bumps in the toolwell, which don't allow it to go down any further. I just don't know how to modify it so that it will fit. The bumps are stiff too, not as if they are in the actual carpet...
