Wlaurent Stelth Sub Enclosure question.
I am still debating what I want to do with a sub in my car. I have everything else lined up. I am not going for a "Killer" system, and I will not win any audio shoot outs by any means. I am thinking about using just one of the Wlaurent sub enclosures. I was thinking about just the driver's side. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Would there be an advantage from one side to the other? Should I do both?
If I do decide to go with two (either now or in the future) do I just wire both of them to output of the amp? Do I need something special to "balance" the subs? My amp is rated at 200w to the sub output.

I can't find my amp on Crutchfield anymore, but it is not a dedicated Sub amp. It's an MTX 5 channel amp. Sounds like I would be safest with only one sub. (not a big deal.)
I do understand what you are talking about by putting the sub on the passenger side. I chose to consider the driver's side first because the case for my guitar ONLY fits with the head toward the passenger side as the side of the case and the spare tire interfere.
If the Wlaurent is not going to work for me, then I would go for a different solution. This just seems to take up the least space.
Anyone else have any issue with running only one sub? Sound preferance for which side to run?

The is really no difference in the bass level between the right and left side installations.
The right (or passenger side) is probably the best solution for a single sub install (as far as keeping available space) - but many have opted for the right side also.
I am pretty sure that your 5 channel is 2 ohm stable on the sub channel. So you could go with a 4 ohm single voice coil sub to start and if you find you need a little more bass just add another 4 ohm sub in parallel (giving you your 2 ohm load).
This also allows you to remove one sub when you need a little more space while still keeping a little bass in your car. I usually pull one of my subs out so that I can throw my golf bag in the trunk.
Cheers

It's the MTX Thunder 4405.
Man i need to learn alot about subs. I though I was doing well learning about car audio, but I did not get half of what William posted.
Any suggestions on a decent 4ohm single voice subs that will fit in the enclosure? I don't need to loosen bricks from roadside buildings (or door panels for that matter.)

Cool, thanks.
The system is taking WAY longer to install than I though. I am SOOO glad it's not my daily driver. I yanked the seats to make it easier to get under the dash. It would be a shame to put 'em and and take 'em out a couple of times, just for this project. Frankly I am realizing just how ambitious this project is. I really hope I can finish it up by the weekend. (At least stage one.)
Stage one is everthing except the subs, or a CD changer. Still debating the need for either. I AM leaning toward a sub, and I doubt I will get a changer. The HU plays MP3's. I can put a case of 10 MP3 disks under the passenger seat and swap them out if I need to.
This thing is going to sound GREAT!
