So we recently pushed the envelope to create the ultimate masterpiece for a JDM NAV POD for the NSX. We were planning to apply the same principle for the s2000 except build it so it sits flush with the dash (area right above the radio)

If there is enough interest we can create molds and make them available for purchase ready to paint

We are not sure the actual cost yet, it will be the ultimate source unit for the s2000!


P.S Yes the tablet could be made "removeable" from dash for updates or security purposes if needed

Basically we would build a thinner pod that straddles the s2000 dash area right above the radio in the same place as our last double din setup:




Tablet has advantages of direct access and un-limited music/sources but DD has the advantage of direct media usage:

i'd be interested. not a big fan of the ipad, but love my android, but at this pint, the S needs an MMI interface for music and navigation

For all Android fans or Apple haters, this principle can apply to ANY tablet. I prefer Apple for tablets so this is what we chose to use but keep your imagination open, anything is possible

 

I could be interested in this modification. But technology and product sizes change pretty rapidly. I would hate to get stuck with outdated technology a few years down the road.

I don't consider the S2000 old technology, though. It's still a shining example of great work many years after it was made.

 

You can always dream about the latest, newest, fanciest car coming out in 2 years or be in the driver's seat of a current model now. It's an age old dilemma but isn't life grand?

We have a local client who is ready to do this installation once the new iPad mini is in his hands.....

definitely would love this, digital guages is the way to go plus navi and bluetooth music to go with it.

 

Would a sun shade for the screen be available for use with top-down driving? We get about 300+ days of sunshine each year in my area, so the top is down as much as possible. I'd need something to cut the glare on the screen.
