Default XM Digital Adapter for Alpine

Does anyone have any experience with the Terk XM Smart Digital Adapter for Alpine radios (CDA-9830 in my case) and the XM Direct Universal Tuner Box? I installed everything yesterday, verified my service and everything was golden for about 12 hours. I then turned my car on to leave for work and my XM wouldn't play, I cycled through the different input sources on the headunit (Disk, radio, etc..) and now my headunit will not recognize that I even have XM. I would imagine this narrows my problem down pre-headunit, a.k.a the digital adapter. I pulled everything, checked the connections and it seems fine. I checked online, went to Best Buy and I can no longer find this kit (or any other in-line Alpine kit for that matter). I still need to check the voltage at the connection, but I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience, or any suggestions for me. Thanks in advance!

check the fuse that's in noise filter going into the XM box, those blow sometimes for no reason.

no there's not fuse inside the box .... it's weird that yours didn't have a noise filter (those have the fuses inside of them, it's a little black box) otherwise , unhook the cable from the XM box , then plug it back in and turn on the car and see what happens.

Yeah I tried that too. I actually pulled all the wiring, checked all the connections and reset the headunit... still no XM. This is the digital xm kit thats controlled from the headunit, maybe thats why I don't have the Noise filter.

I do, and I searched my toolbox but mine has gone MIA haha Im gonna look for it now and see if I can narrow down the problem. I opened up both boxes, and I dont see any loose or scorched components on the boards. Im wondering if its a break in the wiring. its just odd that it would stop working so abruptly.

Did you ever find the solution? I had my xm go out on me also in about a month. i think it's the XM Direct Smart Digital Adapter because it smelled like it fried. I put it next to the transmission tunnel (under the carpet under passenger net) and almost positive it overheateated.
