Default Yellow box problems

so i had the yellow box installed earlier this week and i had it set at 9% which was reading fine, 30mins after it was installed it was reading higher then before it was installed. after i got home to change it i got the settings tuned and now its at 11%, and is dead on. i started the car today and it read 0mph at all speeds. started up the car again and it was fine. its tripping out, does anyone have any suggestions to help me out? thanks guys.

Sounds like a loose wire... or the box just doesn't like you

Yes, it is a loose wire. If you used crimp connectors, they can have intermittant connections. I know, I had this same problem. The CEL is for the lack of speedo signal to the ECU. If you solder all of the crimp connections, you should be fine.

i think its up and working now, one more question, before when it wasnt working correctly the light hardly ever flashed (the red LED on the box) now it flashes but its random, it will flash a bunch of times, then not flash for a few seconds, then flash again. any ideas about this? thanks, if it dosent work perfect in the next few days i will just solder everything together. thanks for the help.

You should solder the connections regardless.

I just soldered the two connections that were crimped with male/female connections.....the only thing left is the "tap" which connects a wire to another, should i solder this too, or is the tap the best/only way to do it? (im a wiring newbie so im just asking)

For any wiring connection to any wire in the car - solder and cover with heat shrink. Any other way can cause problems.
