Default Yellow jacket

Just so you know, I already asked Bob from modifry and he is going to give me a refund, but before i do that I would like to know if anyone has had THIS problem yet. Bob mentioned that there was about 3 out of a 100 he sold the yellow jacket to.
Anyways without further a due. I have two aftermarket amps, V-AFC, TEIN EDFC, aftermarket alarm, Sun Auto Hyper Gnd kit, and HVS, and obviously the yellow jacket. Now, I noticed when I go into V-TEC the voltage drops from 14.4/14.5 V to 12.2/11.9 at times without the HVS. I noticed that either shortly after or right as the voltage drop occurs the yellow jacket will reset. It will cause a "Zero" reading on my speedometer. OR... sometimes I'll be driving and it will read, way too low. I have Richmond's 4.56 gears. So, in 6th gear, I'm at 4000 RPM, I should be doing just around 80mph, but the speedometer will read 62/64. WTH? Bob couldn't answer it nor could he troubleshoot, because I'm in LA and he's in ATL.

I installed the sunauto HVS because i figured the voltage drop might be causing the reset. I would like to monitor the 5V input to see what it does when the volatge drops after vtec, because if the 14.5v is dropping below 12v at times, i wonder what it's doing to the 5v. I wish I knew the tolerances. and a variable pwr supply to see what the threshold is for the yellow jacket.

Anyone run into this problem? Could you shed some light?

With 4.56 gears at 4000 rpm you should be going a lot slower than 80. My 4.10s put me higher than 4000 when at 80.

Why do you seem to think that you would be going 80 at 4k rpm?

Wow, you have a LOT of crap wired into your car. It could be just about anything.

The voltage drop to 12-ish volts is normal, it's when the alternater is off and you are running off of the battery. However, that is still a LOT more than the 5v signal that you need for the YJ.

I would be willing to bet you have a bad ground somewhere.

http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

With 4.10 gears on an AP1 you would be going about 75 in 6th gear at 4,000RPM

With 4.56 gears on an AP1 you would be going about 65 in 6th gear at 4,000RPM

yeah... uh... i'm not worried about the gear ratio... i'm worried about the zero being displayed, so thanks, but... no thanks.
Please reasons why the zero is being displayed. Thank you.

Actually, no you are wrong. The 5V signal is tapped off of a wire that produces 5V, so i'm not tapping off a 12V line. If I were stupid enough to tap off of 12V, I would be ordering another YJ not asking you guys why there is an intermittent problem.

listen... I've spent a LOT of time troubleshooting this, and I'm a mechanic plus avionics on multimillion dollar aircraft. My point is that I'm not that stupid and I don't need to hear the obvious things because I've already done it.

By posting that I would have assumed you were confused, and we supplied you with the answer.

You took our answers like an ass, even though they were correct.
