Default Yet another OEM 6 1/2" speakers installed as rear speakers

Here are my cutting of rear panels. They are not pretty but they work
Measure many times and cut many times (from small to large)

Here is the MY02 OEM Speakers w/o grill on:

Here is it with the Sony grill on (I have Sony 1632 6 1/2" 3-way at the front):

The installation took me more than 6 hrs, with all many many measuring, cutting, drilling, fitting, soldering, along with re-soldering the power antenna power for the head unit. I didn't do it when I first install the head unit.

I can't wait to test it out on the road!

oh no

i have an alpine HU, so i just run wires to the back for them

if you have the OEM HU, then i think the lucid harness will be your best shot

then i think the wiring won't be a problem for you.

just make sure they are long enough (i took the long route from the side panel where the hood release is, to under the door silk, to the rear side panels. so the right rear speakers only have a little bit to spare.

now i am hoping that i can get a thinner speaker grill. the Sony grill is just so tall (28.7mm) and i need as much space as i could get back there (i'm 6'1" so i have my seat very far back) ...

Nice job. I did the same thing. The OEM's are better than most of the 5.25" I auditioned at the stores.
