if I update the software and reload my tune.

So I upload the new software and the boxes to click to upload or download my software are not accessible. I talk to Hondata again and they my tuner has locked the tune.

I then get on the phone with InLinePro, well 10 days later and about 5 phone calls and a dozen texts they admit that they 1) must have locked it, 2) they did not store the tune on any computer they have there, 3) the tuner who did it no longer works there and they will not give me any info on him.

They have offered to re-tune the car for free but the issue is I am now 500 miles away from them. Not making a 1000 mile round trip to get a tune. I guess you can say they tired to make it right but my personal opinion is that they are a bunch of bumbling assholes and I will never go back there. I never liked them in the first place, they never made me feel at ease there, I always felt they were looking down on me or something. I had some later work done at PTuning and it was just the opposite. They made me feel like one of the guys and treated me with respect(hats off to Patrick). Anyway I digress. Any shop like InLinePro who first locks a tune you pay $600 for and then does not even store or keep of record of your business sucks.

If you get a tune from any shop make sure you can access it, my bad for not doing that earlier.

Now I am looking for a good tuner in the Charlotte area.
Wow, sorry I didn't see this post earlier. It definitely sucks that the tuner locked your tune, but I'm surprised that you weren't able to upload the locked tune again. Are you sure that it wouldn't have been possible to upload the locked tune again with the new FlashPro Manager? If not, then it seems that Hondata would have been able to unlock the tune somehow.

I'm having an issue getting my CAT readiness. I have an O2 sensor with a suppressor plug into my j's racing 70RR. Any advice on how to get my CAT to be ready?

I spent a LOT of time with this issue and found out it is not an issue with Hondata. A poor tune / incorrect settings can cause the ECU to not be able to set readiness for all sensors. I had a detailed how-to up on the Hondata forums, but it looks like they deleted the entire thread.

Which sensor are you having trouble setting?

Evaporative Emissions Readiness
Enable Criteria:

Fuel level > 25%, < 75%
At engine start up, ECT and IAT are higher than 32*F but lower than 95*F
At engine start up, ECT and IAT are within 12*F of each other

Procedure:
Start the car COLD, test drive under stop & go conditions with short periods of steady cruise. After ~5 minutes turn the car off then proceed to the cat readiness cycle.

Catalytic Readiness
Enable Criteria:

ECT (Coolant) at 158*F or higher.
IAT at 20*F or higher
Vehicle speed is steady, and speed sensor reads more than 25mph

Procedure:
Test drive car under stop & go conditions with short periods of steady cruise.
During steady cruise, keep the RPM between 1500-3500, load between 25-65 kpa, AF variation < 0.05 lambda. If the AF swing is more than 0.05 lambda, which is not much variance, the test will abort.

After these 2 drive cycles, all monitors should be set. This is from what I can remember, I'll edit this as I find / remember more parameters.

As I mentioned before, I have DBW ITB's on my '08, and am able to pass the OBDII inspection with only 1 readiness check incomplete (FPM 1.9.5). I looked in the tune a minute ago, and saw a few things that you guys might need to try. In the Misc tab, make sure everything is checked EXCEPT for misfire detection, and set the cooling fan to 195 On / 190 Off. If you have a cold thermostat with the fan running at less than 190, that may prevent the readiness checks.
