AEM is a full standalone so if you don't have the mods that require one (95% of the people on here) then it is a waste and the car will never daily drive as friendly as it would with a reflash.
who said that? your not getting it tuned by the right people if thats happening.

Standalone is complex for a car that only has an intake, header, full exhaust. I feel like that is really overkill. Maybe you can make it run like stock but it'll certainly take a lot more work than it would with the accessport. The other big plus is that it's a reflash tool used through the obdII port so no need to dig up your ecu and start plugging wires and stuff. I don't doubt the capabilities of the AEM I'm just saying for most of the people that just want to safely run an intake/header/exhaust with maybe a few other mild mods the AP will make that real easy.

I'm on the Cobb forum as well and made note of my interest. I hope they take to it.

I will link them this thread, but it seems premature, seeing as this request list is still microscopic.

I've got a friend that does a lot of tuning and he knows his stuff. I'm not saying standalone sucks or you can't get it to run as well as stock but it WILL take more work to get there. Unless AEM has an excellent base map you'll spend a lot of time tuning things you wouldn't have to touch tuning with the Accessport.

the only thing holding me back from going FI on the S is the engine management cost..

When i had my turbo civic, engine managment was only around $520 w/ hondata s300..

I would definitely be on the list for another EM option..
