Default AEM EMS Series 2

Good evening,

I have been doing a fair amount of searching this afternoon in an attempt to locate a basemap for the AP1 S2000 for the AEM EMS.
From what i've gathered, the closest provided cal from AEM is a F22c for an AP2, which I read is barely suitable for starting up the vehicle, much less street tuning it.
Basically i'm looking for a basemap for an n/a f20c with a 3" test pipe + 70mm Invidia Q300 dual exhaust with oem header and K&N drop in.

Obviously, I do not intend on doing any spirited driving until i have the vehicle tuned better, which I feel comfortable doing myself, but I am just looking for a starting point so i dont have to start from scratch..

The EMS probably won't be going in for a couple months, but i'd like to have everything sorted out before I hit a brick wall due to lack of preparation..

Cheers,
Jim

You have to use that basemap, there's no other option. The learning curve with the aem software is steep...I've been tinkering with mine for a little over a year and now I am just barely comfortable with starting from basemaps and experimenting with the functions.

The best you can do is download that 175page tuning manual from the aemforum even that isn't enough to tell you how to setup evrything, but it explains key theories and functions.

The basemap with slight tinkering will get you to the tuners if its not too far. I've done it before from scratch after I installed injectors.

The best thing you can do is syncronize ign timing, calibrate tps, and get a headstart on cold start adjustments then put the stock ecu in and let the pros handle it

If you want I can send my map to you. Nothing special but it will better than starting with the base calibration.

You would be surprised, the AEM base map isn't too bad. If you're NA, it's a great place to start.

I'd definitely appreciate that-- can you cold start and at least get it moving with this one? lol

Thanks guys.

And why a 3" test pipe with a 2.75" exhaust?

I apologize, I just saw your reply.

Both the exhaust and test pipe are 70mm piping, unless I am missing something?
Please explain my oversight if there is something I have not noticed..
