Default Aem ems v2 won't connect

Just installed ems v2 but it doesn't seem to be connecting to the laptop. Following the instructions, I unplugged the stock ecu, plugged in ems, turned car to ignition, plugged usb cable. Now I am suppose to wait until a new hardware found msg to show but there is none. Tried with couple different laptops. The stock ecu works.

I've read that the first connection might require the use of the serial cable and an usb adaptor. Has anyone experienced this issue too?

When you have S2000 in ignition 2, as in ready to fire........your saying that with USB cable plugged in your not getting anything. Try opening your windows computer device manager and unplug and replug in cable. Does it show up with a yellow triangle. That means your missing drivers. Really though it's not hard to get AEM on phone with you and since your using a current model I'm sure they'll get you connected.

I bought a serial to usb adapter and it finally connected with that. I haven't tried the usb cable again after that, but I should probably test it out before I bring it to the tuner.

As for the missing drivers, the instructions says to wait until the computer detects the new hardware, then install the usb driver from the AEM folder. The computer was not picking anything up from the usb port.

When I used the serial to usb adapter, the computer recognized it right away.

You are right that you should test out USB before your tuner session. Any problems he has to fix generally causes frustration and money. Keep him on the single task of tuning.
