Default AP1 AEM EMS - Pin C16 - To depin or to cut?

Guys, i intend to depin the OEM C16 and pin the AEM C16 into the blue plug, C16 location. Has anyone successfully done this or is it really a better idea to splice into the C16 wire? Would i struggle to de-pin and re-pin?

This white wire SHOULD be C16 according to the Helms diagram. Red/white below and white/red above C16.

AEM AFR wideband white wire with an ECU terminal crimped on. Is this crimp OK?

Could i actually depin C16 from this plug or is this going to be a big fight? I really don't want to put strain on the plug or wires

If depinning fails, would it be OK to shave the OEM C16 wire and then splice (solder) the AEM wire into it or would that pose a signal problem? I completely removed the OEM O2 sensor from the header and unplugged it from its harness that goes to the ECU. Or should i just cut the wire and splice the AEM wire into it that way?

Thanks for reading this much!

I just cut my wire and fitted a female crimp to the ecu side of the wire and male crimps to both the original wire and the new wideband signal wire. It means if I ever go back to stock I can just unplug the wideband and reconnect the original. Use decenr crimps and a good quality crimper and you won't have any issues

I de-pinned mine. It makes going back to stock easy, which doesn't really matter in my case any more.

Yeah man I managed to depin the OEM wire successfully and pin the AEM wideband wire into the plug without much trouble. I'm tuned up and rocking and rolling now

I managed to do the same. Its so clean and the OEM wire with its own terminal is intact. I'm in the same boat. I don't think I'll ever go back to stock ECU nor do I intend to. I'm tuned NA now by AP1 Chief and soon I'll be supercharged
