Default Ap1 with Ems best option? NA

Have a MY00. Invidia N1, Berk test pipe. Modified air box with snorkel and heat wrap. Looking into getting an engine management system to get the most I can out of it. My buddy's 08 si had hondata and it made a world of difference. I know hondata isn't going to happen for an Ap1. Just wondering what my best options are and a ballpark of what numbers I can expect.

Depends on how much your willing to spend really. If you want to do it on the cheap, since your an early AP1, you tend to run rich so a VAFC would work decently well. Your other options are Kpro, Haltech and AEM EMS. I have full bolt ons on an 03 and just recently pulled the trigger on an AEM EMS, but thats only because Im running nitrous as well. Kpro seems expensive and a hassle to me (have to swap out sensors as crap.) And Haltech seems to be the best option, but its also ~$1200. If money isnt a problem, I'd get a haltech unit and get it tuned. If it is, you can pick up a VAFC for ~200 on the forum or a used AEM EMS V1 for 600-1k depending on the model (1012 or 1052) but like Evans said, new AEM EMS' will run you more than the Haltech

Using some ricer math and from what Ive seen around here, gains with your mods will be pretty good. your test pipe will allow you to lower vtec to ~4k and get some solid midrange gains (15-20ish?) and then since you have an early AP1 you could see gains around 25-30whp from 8-9k as your model tends to run rich up top and drops off in power.

These numbers are off the top of my head and are in no way exact or possibly even accurate, just fyi lol
