Default Best route for engine management 00' S

I recently purchased my 00' S from a buddy of mine and it has an AEM Intake, full exhaust system, and test pipe. If I were to be looking for more power, what would be the best engine management system to tune this car on? I am not real familiar with the different engine management systems, so I am just looking to see what your $.02 would be on what you are running and why or why you don't like it. Thanks for any feedback you guys could provide.

From what I gather:

If you want to keep OBDII functions (warning lights/codes) - Greddy E-manage (piggyback/ ~$500 used with harness)
Otherwise, you can replace the computer with an AEM for about twice the cost.

KPRO! If you need to be emission friendly. Use the search bar. This has been beaten to death already.

I think the haltech plug and play is the most advanced for the money but I could be wrong!

Looks like a lot of money for such little gain, especially as I'm guessing he'll need to pay for someone to tune it for him.

OEM drivability is worth it. Not many people can get AEM to run better than hondata(ignition, cold starts, warm starts, delayed start etc). Not many tuners are familiar with haltech and from what I understand, it has similar issues to AEM

E-manage should allow for easy tuning and drivability as you're building off the stock ECU from the get-go. It can be had for $500 with the harness in used condition. He has minimal and basic mods (intake and exhaust!!)... No need in spending more on the ECU than the mods themselves when it can easily be achieved, WELL, for less.

You and i both know. No one driving an s with intake and exhaust are happy with the power its making. Think long term, future mods that develop power need total control. Most with intake and exhaust only for too long end up selling this car lol
