Calibrating TPS
I'm in the process of installing a Professional Products 68mm throttle body. The TPS runs in a 5V range on my H22 Prelude and the AP1. So I'm using the TPS off of my H22 on my new throttle body. I looked at the range of the OEM throttle body and it was .3V to 4.45V. I installed the Prelude TPS and the best I could get was exactly .25V higher for closed and WOT. Is this OK? Will this make the ECU think that the throttle body is open when it's not and that it's WOT sooner than it should be? I could do a little cutting on the TPS to give me more adjustment range but I'm not sure if it is needed or not. Any help would be appreciated.
I know, I have an AEM V2 EMS but I don't plan on running it for awhile, so the OEM ECU. If I was going to run the AEM right off the bat, I wouldn't worry about it.
After some google searching, I found out that all Honda TPS's are calibrated the same. They should be set to .48V to 4.45V. I'm at .55V to 4.7V and have no more room for adjustment. I think I might "modify" the TPS to allow more adjustment. But I have one question. Why was the OEM throttle body calibrated slightly wrong? It was only at .3 V when closed but WOT was right where it should be? Did I get wrong info?
