Default Which ECU to buy Please advice

I'm working on getting a turbo for my AP1 (around 330hp) and i need to buy a ECU what i was told by a good friend is to get the Kpro from Hondata because he got a bad experience with AEM, my dilemma is that the Kpro is $1750 which is way out of what i was thinking to spend on a ECU.
Is there a big difference on getting a different ECU any brands, recommendations or personal experiences, any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

first off, is emissions an issue?

who are you going to have tune it? call and ask them what they prefer

Being that you're from Miami (according to your user info), you won't have to worry about emissions (like we do here in Cali). Therefore, you don't HAVE to go with the Hondata, if it's cost you're concerned with.

You might wanna mention what your goals are, and whether you're going All-Motor or FI. That way, those of us with experience using those ECUs with that type of engine setup can chime in.

Regardless of which ECU you go with, as long as you go to an experienced tuner, then you should be good to go.

What a word dump. Are the punctuation keys missing from your keyboard?

@ OP, I would do some research to make damn sure your county is not going to start doing any sort of OBDII testing for annual inspections any time soon (or before you plan to put it back to stock).

find a tuner you like and trust, use the system they want you to use.

they are all very capable and will run the car well.

I also have been thinking about this some, Im between aem and kpro. My thoughts are that kpro doesn't have the start up issues or anything like the aem. (from what I read)

I'm in ky so we have no emitions what so ever
