Default ECU swap

I have heard people doing ap1 to ap2 ecu swap, and they said its really good result. But im just wondering that if i do the swap, does my red line decrease from 9k to 8300?

Wait - you're talking about putting an AP2 ECU into your MY00 S2000? I've never heard about anybody doing such a thing. It's usually the other way around in order to gain some higher revs.

I'd imagine it wouldn't do much for you - the fuel tuning would be richer, and your redline would be limited to 8200 rpm. Neither of which will help with power.

Do you mean swapping in a 02-03 ECU into a 00-01?

Here is a link to one thread about it: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=282571&st=0

I might be selling one, I bought it intending to install it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Swapping an AP2 ECU into an AP1 is not a good idea. People swap AP1 ECU's into the AP2 to get the 9K redline. If you have an 00, then I think you are meaning the 02-03 ECU. It has new fuel maps that are supposed to help with low end power. Read the link above. I have the 02-03 ECU, if you want that ECU PM me. Not sure if I'm selling it, but I may since it has been laying around for almost a year.

Exactly. You seem to be confusing an AP2 with the second generation of the AP1.....meaning the updated fuel maps that the '02-'03 possess without dropping the redline which would happen if you really did do a AP2 ecu.

Keep in mind you'll need the keys that went with the"new" ecu for the immobilizer to not screw you up.

You need an '02 or '03 ecu, and either get the keys or have a honda dealership do the swap and have the VIN of the donating car handy so they can program you some new keys and log that change.
