That is correct for the USA at least.

Ap1 and ap2 are actually the chassis codes, though they are mostly used to express the difference between s2000's made before or after '04 which is when they received a face lift (headlights tail lights bumpers dash etc.) and in the US got the 2.2lt engine (f22) as well as other changes in suspension and what not. The rest of the world did not get the engine changes until later ('06 in japan) or not at all (Australia and most or all of Europe)

He's finally grasping it and we start throwing engine codes at him now!!! .....just kidding. All the info above is correct. Including the F20C and F22C designations.

Ask away young Jedi. There is plenty of helping knowledge on this forum. (certainly more than most).

You'd also have to add drive by wire

If you go with the ecu swap with key, don't you also need the ignition key hole. Because the key wouldn't just work. Correct if i'm wrong, because i'm trying to figure this out. I got a busted ecu that i'm trying to swap without going to the dealer.

yeah you need the ecu, immobilizer and ignition to swap without the dealer reflashing the new ecu with the new key.
