Default EMS Tuning on a SmartPhone

With the ever improving technology of the newest gadgets and whatnot the thought has crossed my mind of how it would affect me. I'm not a pro by any means but I did fiddle around with my 03's Kpro software a bit when I did have it and I intend to have a similar setup again very soon. I was wondering since Kpro runs off a USB and with phone technology steadily advancing would smartphones be the next step to engine tuning?

I haven't looked into even how the newest smartphones work yet since I'm still on a phone that can barely get on the internet, but after reading a nice little yahoo article on the Atrix from Motorola the idea crossed my mind. Since the Atrix phone can run dual core with a 64gb(i think?) maximum capacity harddrive, it should be more than enough to run the Hondata software programs. Especially since only a few years back during the era of Pentium 4 etc. the computers were less advanced and still running the same software smoothly.

Any thoughts on the subject? Is the EMS-tuning world ready for on-the-fly adjustments for every day driving to make adjustments? just a thought and i'm a bit juiced from the short drive i took in the S just now after withdrawal (haven't driven it in months).

I don't think there would be a need for something like this. The screens are too small, and the UI is too much of a PITA for tuning. The only thing I'd likt to have on my smart phone is OBDII / CAN datalogging via BlueTooth or WiFi, like this.

Something like that would be cool for monitoring, but I just don't see the benefit in something like that for tuning. You shouldn't be changing your tune often.
