Default Shops refuse to inspect my turbo S :(

So, being that my inspection came due recently, I decided to head on over to a couple of places that I knew in order to get the car inspected.
After 2 shops, and 5 hours of my time, BOTH of them were unable to work anything out for me. I find this a bit funny, yet sad and aggravating at the same time.

No connection from the AEM EMS (as I knew and expected)

I figured they would pull some strings, but the local DMV needed to be aware. The tech gave DMV a call in order to work something out to bypass it, as they did in the past, but no luck. Im strung out of ideas, and need this car inspected asap...

Thinking of replacing with stock ECU/injectors/map sensor, however, I still have no catalytic converter.

Im getting so aggravated that Im willing to put this EMS for sale to invest in the more user friendly, OBD2 compliant Kpro.

Any suggestions/ideas/help would be greatly appreciated...

Frank

I think it would be helpful to know what state and city you live in, since inspection laws vary widely. If you would have tried this in Dallas, TX, you'd probably be looking at a $10K fine right now.

It is a federal crime anywhere in the US to remove a catalytic converter from a vehicle driven on public roads. The federal fine is $10K.

And it's illegal to buy a used catalytic converter for installation unless it is independently recertified prior to installation.

I live in kentucky, we don't have any inspections at all. as long as it has headlights, tail lights, and turn signals then you can drive it.

edit-

saw this driving on the road about a month ago...
