Default EMU and wide band questions

There doesnt seem to be any mention of adding a wide band o2 sensor to the EMU in the manual. Ive leaning towards the AEM but I wondering if the gauge is needed or if I can omitted it from the install as I would prefer not adding anything to the interior. I want it to be a permanent install. I have been having difficulty finding info for the EMU online.

When adding a wideband the the EMU can it just be wired in the to the option slots or will I need an intermediate controller?

You can get any wideband gauge (PLX/AEM) and use the option harness to self-tune the car with the wideband reading.

I dont want to use a gauge if I dont have to. Can I just connect the harness directly to the WB sensor it self?

The only purpose for hte gauge would be if you want to see the AF reading. If you don't care to see it, don't install a gauge, but you will ned the controller. I believe the AEM EMS has the controller built it, but I may be wrong.

Depends on which ems he has. If the has the "1052-U" instead of the normal "1052" he would have a wideband controller built into the box. I just had a regular 1052 so I bought the gauge controller from AEM. I know that isn't what he wants but it would be a solution.
