Default Etuning Review

I recently bought the flash pro after having the toda reflash for awhile now, maybe 2 years. I live in Arkansas and we only have one tuner here and I Greatly do not trust that guy tuning my car. well i decided to give this etune a go. i created this thread as an unbiased opinions. thanks to gernby. i will be measuring the progress with the software dyno gernby has provided. i will compare the etunes with my hondata toda reflash.

i was emailed by Jeff at Evans Tuning of my first etune. i dont know exactly what to check but it seemed like he decided to start the vtec at 4500 compared to toda at 4100 calibration or 4200 reflash. and the redline is at 8500 same as the toda reflash. the toda reflash made my car run with a decent a/f ration 13.7-12.2. the etune made the car run very rich, anywhere from 13.3 to 10.9.

the green and blue are the toda reflash and the red is the etune.

i will be updating this along the way.

Generally, updates will probably take about two days. because it involves me getting the datalogs they need. Then, emailing them the datalogs. The I have to wait for them to make the corrections, which takes about another 24 hours. But I will update when I can. I just sent the the datalogs last night. I also asked if they could lower the vtec any further. But for about 150$ it's not a bad thought. Because, it is a whole lot better than tuning it here. I could got to another tuner out of state. Which most likely will cost more than 150$.

update: just got another email from Jeff at 8:43pm on feb 22. damn he is working late. the first email i received was on feb 15 at 8:27am. that is some good service working late.

his reply to my question about lowering vtec was. "I always start with a higher vtec point and work down. By the looks of the things I can probably move it as low as 3600, although its going to be set at 3800 rpm for this time around. The load threshold is set-up that you have to be full throttle in order to engage it at 3800 rpm so you wont be hitting it while driving around town."

and of course i know how the load threshold works so i am not at all concern. well now i will just download the new calibration to my flashpro and reflash my car. i will have the datalogs up probably thursday or friday due to school work.

Damn ... I really, really need to put the new soft dyno out for download. The one that you are using is really bad.

If you have a newer version gernby I'd love to use it as well (if you wouldn't mind sharing it). I'd love to run some back to back comparisons w/ some light mods, and generally have a half decent way of testing my changes.
