gettin a kpro...now what?
some guy offered me a kpro brand new in the box. he drives a 06 si 4 door. so im guessin that the kpro he has was for his si. anyways he was 800 for it. i drive a 2001 ap1 with bolt ons.
my questions are
1. is that a good deal?
2. why do i need the ap2 valve cover? and does it have to be brand new?
3. do i still need a prb rsx ecu and send it to hondata for 450 so they can program it for my car?
4. if its installed and everything goes right, can i erase my cel if i wanted to and pass emissions?
sorry for all the questions. i looked for answers but there was nothing exact. all that sounds like alot of money after i get the kpro for 800 bucks.
kpro=800
ap2 valve cover and all ness things for the kpro=300ish
sent to hondata=450?
thats like a total of 1550ish??? am i missin something?

06+ civics don't use kpro.
You must use a PRB ECU
Valve cover doesn't need to be new but it must be AP2. AP1 valve cover won't fit with the new cam sensor
Yes you must send the Kpro ecu to hondata to convert to S2k specs
Depends on the CEL. If you turn off OBD2 in Kpro, it won't pass because their equipment won't read it. But yes you can clear CEL's

dude - have you visted hondata's web site and read about the kpro for an s2k?
you need to first determine what you have.
you should at least have a kpro'ed rsx ecu. if you have that and its not setup for an s2k, you will have to send it to hondata to have it reprogramed for your s2k.
for $450, hondata will reprogram and provide a harness and mounting bracket. Then you need spend another $300 or so for additional parts that hondata does not sale, see below for that list.
so if you have a kpro ecu for $800, you are saving about ~$500 over buying this new. did you get a harness along with the ecu?
also note the kpro software can be downloaded from hondata's site for free... so i hope you didn't just buy a harness and software for $800?
The following items must be replaced before the S2000 K-Pro can be used. These parts are not supplied by Hondata and should be purchased from a Honda dealer.
Crank sensor 37500-PZX-003
Crank wheel 13622-PCX-013
TDC sensor 37510-PZX-003
TDC wheel 14112-PCX-003
Valve cover 12310-PCX-020
Drain plug washer (for PCV valve) 94109-14000
PCV valve 17130-PCX-003
IAT sensor 37880-P05-A00 (not required, but stock IAT will read about 30 degrees hotter)
The approximate cost of these parts is $300-375.
