Does anyone have one of these? I have version 2.32 installed on a Win 7 32bit machine and installed the driver from the drivers folder in Trust in Program Files but the program comes up and says offline.

Do you actually have to have it wired in to be able to interact? A friend got it secondhand and he hasn’t wired it in yet so I’m literally just plugging a usb cable into the unit and nothing else is attached to it, ie no lights.

The ecu needs battery power to be able to connect.

 

I thought so but my friend seemed to think it should connect. So saying “Offline” is normal until everything is wired? I’m trying to put together a VM for him and just want to make sure I’ve done everything I can. He got the kit secondhand and hasn’t wired it yet.

It's been a few years since I used one but I remember I needed to connect a temporary 12V supply when I wanted to function test mine out of the car.
Can't remember if it read "Offline" but without power I would guess so.

 

Definitely need power from my experience. It wouldn't interact nor light up nor go 'online' until 12V power was applied... which kind of makes sense.

Also, VM did not work for me however Win7 32bit and Win10 32bit both work natively.
