Which Haltech option are you looking at using? Plenty of people are using the Platinum Pro Plug-in as well as some of the other options like the Sport/Sprint series. Recently there have been a few reports of hesitation during pulls from users of the PP Plug-in. The issue is intermittent and only observed by a handful of users. Haltech has been working closely with those users to resolve the issue over the past few months. It didn't stop me from buying one. Mine is currently being installed and will be tuned sometime this month.

I believe them to be an equivalent to the AEM V2, both of which have their advantages/disadvantages over the other.

I've fitted a few of their K20A plug and play versions to the Honda K20A/Lotus elise conversions that I sell. Haven't had any troubles.

I'm running the haltech plug in. Have 1200 miles on my setup. Overall happy, my tuner was very pleased with the unit and its ease of tuning. Only issue I've heard of is some intermittent problems reading/interpreting the cam sensor on startup. I have had a few starting issues because of this but It will start on the next attempt, no major problem. I'd recommend it over AEM for sure.
